Hello world!
Whoa… Hello world indeed… I have arrived!! (at last) Reckon I’m the last one of the team to arrive… but hey “Here i am world” (what a learning curve so far)
What team?? Well it’s kinda a long story…
It all started long ago in a faraway land – australia. There we were goin’ like the clappers – my wife and me – in a job we hated. We were running a restaurant, which involved us day and night, 6 days a week. We’ve got two little kids – it was tough on them too!
One day we simply closed the doors and walked away – it was time. It was time to get real. That wasn’t livin’. We wanted time together – time with the kids. We wanted to work from home. I had done many things previously – chef, maths tutor, grano worker (that’s laying concrete), private detective, dietitian, options & currency trading – heck! you name it I’ve probably tried it!
For the past year (more like 2 years – but I don’t like to admit that) I’ve been searching, studying and researching this IM stuff. Seemed like this was the answer. Work from home whenever you want, and you get to play on the pc all day under the guise of work. So how hard can it be? I’d used computers in every other thing I had done (except grano) I considered myself above average proficiency. I even taught the stuff at uni as a tutor. (that was word/excel & programmes like that)
Anyhow, I reckoned I’d start out writing an eBook. I wrote a 50 page document for the medical/health niche. Was it an eBook? No! it was a document. How do I make it into an eBook that was saleable? More research needed! Oh! I’d need web hosting, a domain name, webpage setup, paypal, a blog, I’m gonna need to learn HTML, FTP, cPanel, SEO. Struth, i better get me a guru. I forked out big dollars to my gurus. I joined their tell all ‘look over my shoulder’ programmes. I always felt I was the dork and everyone else was already a wannabe guru – they already knew it all. Crikey! – if that were the case why did they join. Anyway, the ones I know of are still on their way to turning their first dollar online. And here I am 2 years later, a hard drive full of real good widgets and links to make me a lot of money – NOT!
It hit me one day – I don’t need a guru, they don’t have the time for me. They never replied to my questions and pleas for mercy as I was flailing about gasping for breathe in the IM wilderness. I only ever got an autoresponder message.
I had subscribed to all the newsletters and email lists of the gurus though, in the hope of receiving any meagre crumbs or crumb they may drop.
One on my list was a bit different. He seemed like a normal bloke. No big talker. Didn’t promise the world. Although he was successful, he was no gazillionaire like the others boasted (yeah, from me & others like me). He was offering just what I needed – step-by-step instruction – in layman’s terms – starting from scratch. WOW
